A CO-OP store in Colchester will be closed for four days while it is refurbished.
The Mersea Road shop will stock new food ranges and more fruit and veg once the work is completed.
The shop floor is being extended 2,000 sq ft into the stock room and will be completely re-fitted.
An electrical goods section is also being added and a membership office where East of England Co-op dividend transactions can be carried out.
Customers will be re-directed to nearby stores in Wimpole Road and Abbots Road from Sunday until Wednesday, until the shop re-opens at 10am on February 23.
Staff will also benefit with improved employee facilities, and the East of England Co-operative Society says it hopes more workers will be taken on when the work is complete.
