A YOUNGSTER who goes to a Colchester stage school appears in the latest blockbuster movie.

Ashley Foster plays the son of the title character in The Woman in Black starring Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

Ashley, 10, has attended the Stagecoach Colchester theatre school for five years and has already starred in two music videos for Temper Trap and Chemicals Brothers.

The former Colchester resident continued working with the school after moving to Nedging Tye, Suffolk.

Ashley said: “It was very exciting to be starring in such a big movie, Daniel Radcliffe was really nice, I also met Ciaran Hinds and Liz White.

“The whole experience was great, at times it was quite scary but the whole crew were supportive and made filming enjoyable.”

The Woman in Black, a ghost story written by Susan Hill, was made into a stage play and reached London’s West End in 1989, becoming the second longest running play.

The film was released on Friday and is rated 12A.
