I am amazed at some of the responses made to the proposed housing development in the grounds of St Osyth Priory.

Reading the correspondence in Tendring Council’s planning applications, it seems those charged with the responsibility for wildlife and the environment are giving way to massive changes in favour of these applications.

The responses suggest badgers can be moved, bats can be rehoused, birds can find somewhere else to live and the rest of the wildlife can just clear off.

Generally speaking, it appears there are no safe areas for wildlife during this period of Government housing policy.

I am withdrawing my support until I am convinced these organisations are not redundant in the work we believe they represent.

We all need to take a real interest in what is going on around us and who, if anyone, is looking after the interests of the above and much more.
