COOKERY demonstrations revealing ways of using leftover food will be given in Colchester town centre this week.

Tasty food samples will be on offer and residents can quiz chefs on what to do with items they throw away the most.

The event is part of the Essex Love Food Hate Waste campaign, aiming to reduce the cost to households of throwing away food and to local authorities for collecting it.

Kevin Bentley, county councillor responsible for waste, said: “These roadshows are an excellent way to get some inspiration for easy and tasty leftover recipes that you can try at home.

“The roadshows are also great fun, so I urge everyone to come along if they can.”

The roadshow will run all day on Friday February 10 in Lion Walk Square.
