THE wife of a convicted murderer believes new evidence could help clear his name.
Stephanie Hall and her legal team are meeting with the Criminal Cases Review Commission next week to try and secure a second appeal.
Her husband, Simon Hall, 34, was found guilty in 2003 of stabbing widow Joan Albert, 79, at her Capel St Mary home in 2001.
But Hall, who worked for a company in East Hill, Colchester, has always protested his innocence.
An appeal to overturn the conviction was rejected in January but now his wife hopes to secure a second appeal soon and then to be reunited with her husband who has now spent more than nine years in prison.
