* Tesco is spending £3k a week to replace trolleys taken from its store in Colchester's Hythe, it has been revealed. Bosses at the supermarket in Greenstead Road say as many as 30 trolleys a week are going missing - and say students at Essex University are to blame for the majority of disappearances.
* Householders have been told they have one more chacne to start recycling - then they'll risk a fine. About 7,100 households in Colchester are being asked to put out food waster as part of a trial, which could be extended if it's a success.
* An amputee will run the London Marathon after running for the first time since she was a child. Helen Chambers, 43, from Walton, has only be running since July since she got a new prosthetic right leg.
