Witham: MP calls for dangerous foreign nationals to be deported

A politician has discovered 88 foreign nationals convicted of serious crimes including murder and rape could not be deported on human rights grounds.

The Home Office released the figures for last year in response to a written parliamentary question from Witham MP Priti Patel.

Ms Patel said: “The public will be appalled to see that dangerous foreign criminals are able to hide behind human rights excuses to remain in Britain.

“The Government urgently needs to free Britain from Europe’s human rights laws so these dangerous foreigners can be removed from our country.”

Of the 88 offenders, two were convicted of murder, seven of rape, 66 of violent offences and 13 or other sexual offences.

I never cease to be frustrated at the lack of human rights afforded to the public to keep them safe from those that have been proven to have carried out crimes.

UKBA don't have enough detention capacity, the prisons are apparently over subscribed but still we pander.

Human rights are very important, but once someone is convicted of a serious crime they forgo all but the basic human rights- whether they are immigrants or born in the UK.

These criminals have denied their victims their human rghts so they should not have any themselves. Send them back at once, we don't want foreign scum like that in our country.

Personally, I don't want ANY scum like that in the UK.... foreign or indigenous.

In fact, any foreign nationals willing to work hard and integrate are more than welcome. We have too many UK national scroungers culminating in the crippling taxes we have to currently pay...

Priti Patel is one of the best of the new intake of new Conservative MPs from the last election, a few more like her would turn this country around, yes she is an up and coming star, and yes if we can get rid of this scum good, commit a crime you loose your rights no matter who you are!!

It appears that the namby pamby Liberal Democrats and their pivotal role in helping to form this Government have stopped the Conservatives taking power back from Brussels that might have seen this abuse of Human Rights legislation curtailed.

All very cavalier Pritti Patel, clever soundbites, play to the Nationalists gallery. But least you forget Britain is tied to Europe, and all that it involves. That includes the very civil liberties and human rights that you now seek to ignore. In the early 1970s, following a national referendom, Conservative prime minister, Ted Heath signed us all into the' then called' commom market, and later the treaty of europe. In your naivety Do you now think you can pick and choose what parts of the treaty you want to adhere to, and what not to?..... One of the best intakes of conservative MPs....I think not. One of the most naive, yes.

Unless another Tory moves on or resigns she will have to compete with Brooks Newmark to be Witham and Braintree MP if Boundary Commission recommendations for Essex are accepted.
