I have just read the piece about dogs being poisoned (Gazette, June 14).
My dog died in the same way. I live in Birch Glen, off Mersea Road, Colchester.
I had taken a short walk behind my house, which is in Melbourne Chase.
I went to my sister’s, off Ipswich Road, just after 11am, and at about 1.45pm he collapsed.
I rushed him to my vets at the Willows, but they could not save him.
He was a Parson Jack Russell and would have been two the following week.
We had a full post mortem and samples were sent to America for a tox screen, but we could get no answers.
Our vet still says it was a toxin, but we will never know exactly what.
I hope I never have to witness any animal suffer like this again. It happened in April.
