STEAM engines, vintage tractors and buses were among the hundreds of exhibits at a popular rally.

Earls Colne Scout and Guide Group and the North East Essex Tractor and Engine Club held the 31st Aldham Old Tyme Rallye and Fayre.

The 450 exhibitors at the showground, in White Colne, attracted some 3,500 people over the two days.

Committee member George Posner said: “People who came liked the steam engines and military vehicles.

“Some of the military vehicles were the size of tanks and paraded in the ring.

“On Sunday we had quite a lot of old buses.

“We also had old lorries and classic and vintage cars.”

Second World War re-enactment group Battle 4 Europe set up a camp and there were fairground attractions and a craft tent.

Money raised from the weekend will be split between the Scouts and Guides, the tractor and engine club, and other groups that helped on the day, including St John Ambulance and Colchester Air Training Corps.
