FRIENDS will form a guard of honour for a teenage St John Ambulance volunteer.

Colleagues will line the road at Three Counties Crematorium, Braintree, for the funeral of Bobby Lunn on Tuesday.

Tributes have poured in for the 18-year-old. More than 900 people joined a Facebook page set up in memory of the former Hedingham School pupil.

He was believed to have been found hanged at his home in Braintree on May 9.

Kim White, St John Ambulance Halstead divisional leader, said the honour guard was a way of colleagues paying respect to Bobby and showing how much they honoured him.

She said: “Bobby was a very caring young man. He joined Halstead division when he was 11 and quickly gained a passion for first aid and helping others.

“He was always asking to go on duty, especially to motorcross, his favourite.”

She also said the tradition of having haribo sweets while on duty, which Bobby started, continues.

Miss White said: “He was one of the core members and if you were going on duty it was guaranteed Bobby would be with you, even if it was just a small church fete.

“St John always held his interest. He stuck with it for so long. It shows the kind of person he was.

“Bobby will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family.”

The funeral is at 10.45am. St John Ambulance volunteers who want to form the guard of honour can contact Miss White.
