THE Olympic torch will not be spending the night in north Essex in the run up to the London 2012 games, organisers have revealed.
Colchester and Tendring councils both applied to host the torch and an evening party, but were not among the 74 towns and cities chosen.
However, with the torch travelling from Ipswich on July 5, 2012 to Chelmsford the following day, it remains to be seen whether the procession will travel through the region.
