A TEENAGER was highly commended by TV chef James Martin in a national cookery contest.
Georgia Hall, a student at St Mary’s School, Colchester, made it through to the south of England regional finals of the competition.
She was given an hour to make her signature dish.
Georgia dished up a Thai-style red lamb curry in a vine leaf wrap, in a cook-off against seven others.
Saturday Kitchen presenter Martin gave Georgia a highly commended award.
He said: “We’ve had more than 800 entries. Georgia did exceptionally well to be named highly commended.
“Her recipe was original, nutritious and presented really well. Most importantly, it tasted great.
“By today’s standards, I’m sure Georgia will go on to enjoy much culinary success in the future.”
The contest, for 11 to 16-year-olds, was run by mince company, Red Tractor.
