A WOMAN was left trapped in her car after coming off the road at Salcott-cum-Virley.
Emergency services were called to Colchester Road, near the Five Lakes Hotel Golf and County Club, at 6.35am yesterday. **Nov 25** Firecrews from Tollesbury, Tiptree and Colchester were called to the scene and used two sets of specialist cutting equipment to free the woman from her grey Volkswagen Gulf by 7.50am.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the woman, who is in her mid 20s, was unconscious for some time and was taken to Colchester General Hospital for treatment.
Motorists were caught in delays as the road was closed in both directions following the accident, near the junction of Barnhall Road and The Street. The scene was cleared by 10.15am.
