Elderly people suffering alleged abuse in some care homes – this time Greenways care home, in Colchester, which closed in 2008 – is now a news topic.
This concerns all of us, especially those who have no kin to protect them.
To know our older generation have to endure cruelty, having medical conditions through no fault of their own, makes us angry when compassion, love and respect is all that is needed.
It doesn’t help either when time and time again we hear how people are living longer, making some elderly people feel they are a burden on this country, being no longer productive.
All of us at some time will suffer age-related health problems, be it physically or mentally.
We can only hope the quality of life will improve, otherwise life could become a living hell for some.
