A YOUNG woman whose boyfriend died suddenly says has paid tribute to him as she prepares for a skydive in his memory.

Ray Harvey, 24, died after suffering a brain haemorrhage on October 7.

His girlfriend of two years, Jessica Harmer, 21, said: “Ray was the most amazing person I have ever met.

“He wanted to do so much. He wanted to travel the world, he had so much ambition.

“He loved watching the stars and just loved the simple things in life.”

Mr Harvey, from Braintree, had never suffered from ill-health. He had visited Spain and Morocco with Miss Harmer this summer.

Miss Harmer, of Aetheric Road, Braintree, added: “He wouldn’t hurt a soul. He would do everything for everyone. He was the sweetest person.”

Friends held a minute’s silence in his memory at the Picture Palace, in Braintree, and local band the Vale played a gig at Bailey’s Bar, where they dedicated songs to him.

In his honour, Miss Harmer, a healthcare support worker at Braintree Community Hospital, will face her fear of heights on Sunday for a 10,000ft skydive in aid of the Stroke Association.

She has already raised £845 and said Mr Harvey would have found her challenge “hilarious” because she so afraid of heights. The Stroke Association is close to Miss Harmer’s heart because her father, Kevin, 49, suffered a stroke about five years ago.
