A GRIEVING father has spoken of his outrage at plans to take down wind chimes from trees in Colchester cemetery.
Marlon Sherman, along with his family and friends, has decorated the tree next to his son Harry’s grave with more than 30 chimes.
But cemetery bosses have decided to put a limit on the number of chimes after receiving complaints from mourners that they cannot grieve in peace.
Now they are restricting the display of wind chimes to two per grave - with none allowed in the trees.
Penny Stynes, crematorium and cemetery manager with Colchester Council, said the decision had taken in an attempt to respect the wishes of everyone using the cemetery.
