My wife, Marion Cornes, died in Nayland Ward, Colchester General Hospital, early on July 17.
I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all day-shift doctors, nurses and general staff who did their very best to make Marion’s last two weeks as comfortable as possible.
They were extremely caring at all times. Also, thanks to the nurses on the night shift of July 16/17, who did what they could to make Marion’s last hours dignified and pain free, then showed kindness and compassion to myself, my son and daughter in our grief.
They made us hot drinks, gave us time alone in their office and then arranged a taxi for us when we were ready to leave. Thank you each and every one.
