A PRIMARY school is set to expand as spaces in Colchester reach breaking point.
The £10 million pound Queen Boudica Primary School, in Turner Road, only opened to pupils in September 2009.
Now Essex County Council has confirmed it plans to spend almost £3 million to expand the school by more than a third, from 210 pupils to 330, and build a new children’s centre.
Figures released by the council revealed that out of 2,129 primary school places for September, 2041 are already taken.
40 of the 57 schools already have waiting lists.
And with a booming population in Colchester the problem is only going to get worse.
