The trust which runs Colchester’s two hospitals has appointed a new boss.
Dr Gordon Coutts will take the reins as chief executive at Colchester Hospital University Foundation Trust from September 6.
He replaces Peter Murphy, who retires on August 31 after more than six years at the helm.
Dr Coutts, who lives in Ashen near Sible Hedingham, became a non-executive director of the trust on April 1.
He is a qualified doctor and has 20 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
