On the same day you published an article about a motorist traced by their car registration plate and fined £500 for throwing a cigarette butt out of their car, there was an article about the mess and cost of £3,000 to clear up after the travellers left the Naze in Walton (Gazette, July 13).
Can we not trace them by their number plates?
We do it with fly-tippers.
