I HAVE been working behind the scenes with my Conservative colleagues on Colchester Council and Essex County Council to find the solution that would best suit the children’s needs.
Of paramount importance is the provision of the best education possible for pupils in the borough.
We believe it is essential to retain secondary school provision in the south of Colchester, and support the need for an academy at Sir Charles Lucas.
Under the excellent leadership of Jonathan Tippett and his senior management team, we have the prospect of first-class teaching for children in the south of the town.
A purpose-build academy will serve children in the north of the town.
My hope is that for the sake of the children and their parents, everyone will work together to make sure that the changes coming will progress as smoothly as possible.
