Job Title: Sports chief sub-editor
The Role:
The Echo and the Daily Gazette, Essex's two daily papers, need a sports chief sub-editor.
Based in our Basildon office, the successful applicant will work alongside the sports editor to oversee the production of our daily sports pages.
As well as sub-editing the daily titles, the successful applicant would also be occasionally be required to work on our sister weekly titles.
The successful candidate would also be expected to write copy as required.
A knowledge of Quark Xpress is required and applicants will have an NCTJ NCE qualification.
Newsquest Essex publishes two daily papers and 12 weeklies. The company is committed to providing ongoing training and career development.
The Person
Good organisational skills are essential to the role as is the ability to work well within a busy but vibrant team.
