Job Title: Sports Reporter/Sub-editor
The Role:
The Echo, the daily paper for south Essex, needs a sports reporter/sub-editor for the Basildon office.
The successful applicant will take on responsibility for the Echo's non-league football coverage, as well as writing about a range of other sports.
Knowledge of Quark Xpress is also desirable as the successful candidate will be responsible for sub-editing pages for the Echo and our sister titles.
Applicants will have an NCTJ NCE qualification.
The paper is part of Newsquest Essex, which publishes two daily papers and 12 weeklies. The company is committed to providing ongoing training and career development.
The Person
Good organisational skills are essential to the role as is the ability to work well within a busy but vibrant team.
