A BUSINESS owner says she is “over the moon” after an application for a trampolining centre was approved at the second attempt.

Bounceability owner Rosie Amoss applied to relocate the centre for disabled people from Severalls Industrial Park, in Colchester, to her father’s farm, off Colchester Road, in West Bergholt.

Mrs Amoss, who lost her sight due to diabetes two years ago, wanted premises that were cheaper and closer to her family home.

The planning application was opposed by some villagers and West Bergholt Parish Council, which claimed there would be a problem with accessing the centre and it would create noise and disruption.

Mrs Amoss’s first application was rejected by Colchester Council, but the revised plan was agreed at Thursday’s planning committee meeting.

Mrs Amoss, of Chapel Road, West Bergholt, said: “This means we can keep the centre open so all our users can continue to enjoy the trampolining sessions and relax and unwind.

“It is absolutely fantastic. I am over the moon.”

She said the new application differed little from the original, but had the signatures of almost 300 people supporting her.

Bounceability is equipped with special hoists, which allow severely disabled people to use the trampolines.

Charities, including Headway Essex and Scope, use the centre.
