Commuters faced severe delays following disruptions at Chelmsford railway station due to signal failures today.
Trains to London Liverpool Street were cancelled and commuters faced delays of up to 90 minutes.
Witham and Braintree Rail Users' Association chairman David Bigg said: "It's not a good start to the week. The trains are very crowded and passengers are standing in every nook and cranny they can find - including the toilet!"
