The planned second runway at Stansted Airport will be built, according to BAA's new Spanish owners.
Ferrovial-led consortium Airport Development and Investment (ADI) confirmed on Thursday its commitment to the Government's 2003 Air Transport White Paper recommendations. It said it would review the plans and costings of the airport's so-called Generation 2 proposals.
BAA had planned to release details about the location of the second runway, the positioning of the extended airport boundary and the associated on-airport development over the summer, following the public consultation which ended in March. It now expects to be able to do this in the autumn, after the end of the review.
