FROM films to folk music and food, a free festival in Wivenhoe added up to another word beginning with “f”... fun!
Despite grey and windy weather, thousands turned out to enjoy the Wivenhoe May Fair.
As ever, the music was the main draw, with a huge range of acts on stage, from local favourites Fooled by Chance to Swedish band, Tequila Girls.
On the acoustic stage, the Ragged String Band and up-and-coming 15-year-old singer songwriter Lou Terry entertained the crowds.
A new feature this year for the fair, held on King George V playing field, was a bicycle-powered cinema tent, showcasing the talents of local film-makers, including award-winner Toby Roberts.
Away from the audio and visual treats, alternative therapies and art workshops gave people a chance to expand minds and bodies, while children enjoyed a bouncy castle.
The event, which is run by volunteers, started out as a peace festival in the early Eighties and has since gone on to raise more than £25,000 for charity down the years.
