A DRIVER was trapped in a car after a crash in Colchester.
The black saloon car left the road and collided with a bus stop at the junction of Bromley Road and Harwich Road after 6pm today.
The woman was cut free by two fire crews from Colchester, including the rescue tender, and one fire crew from Wivenhoe within 45 minutes.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics for whiplash before being taken to Colchester General Hospital.
Leading firefighter Craig Todd of Colchester Fire Station said: "It was a minor shunt but the woman was complaining of whiplash-type injuries so she was medically trapped.
"We removed the roof and took the woman out of the back of the vehicle on a board.
"Crews worked really efficiently and got the job done really quickly."
