SUPERSTAR DJ Judge Jules is set to spin the discs at Clacton’s newest nightspot.

The Radio 1 DJ will be playing at the Liquor Lounge, in Marine Parade East, in the warm-up to his popular Judgement Sundays residency at Ibiza’s Eden nightclub.

Club owner Lee Milleare said getting the DJ to Clacton was a scoop and would help to establish the new club as a major venue.

He also hopes it will pave the way to attracting other major dance music names to the town.

“Obviously, getting Judge Jules here is a really good thing as he is a legend of DJing,” he said.

“He has been on Radio 1 for 15 years and is a major player.

“We are really pleased we have got him coming down to Clacton to do a Saturday night set – which is quite a rare thing for Clacton.

“It is really good for the venue. We can’t say too much yet, but we have many plans for other superstar DJs and this will help to establish us as a major venue.”

Mr Milleare added that the new club had gone from strength to strength since it opened during the Easter bank holiday weekend. Judge Jules is the biggest name to be attracted to the club so far. The popular DJ is soon set to start his regular club night in Ibiza at the club Eden called Judgement Sundays, which is known for being San Antonio’s busiest night.

Tickets for the event, which takes place this Saturday, cost £5 and are available in advance from the Liquor Lounge, Hoop Hairstylists in Rosemary Road and the Purple Dog in Eld Lane, Colchester.
