I would like to make my veiws known with reference to the article in the Gazette, May 12) regarding the administration of Vergo.

On February 2 we ordered two beds from Vergo in Dovercourt.

Like the woman in the article, we also paid cash for them. We were told by the store manager we would have delivery in six to eight weeks. After nine weeks, we went into the store to find out what had happened to the beds and were told they were on order.

After 12 weeks, we went in again and were told the hold-up was at the manufacturer.

When we heard the news Vergo was going into administration, we went to the store and asked for our money back. They refused.

I then asked why I could not have two of the five beds on the shop floor, but once again I was refused.

We rang the makers and they stated they had received our order for the beds, but had not made them as they had not received our payment from Vergo.

I sympathise with all the people who have been affected by this company, of whom there will be many in this region.

It seems they knew their orders would not be fufilled without prior payment and in our case they had had the money for 13 weeks.
