POLICE have this morning confirmed that a second body has been found at a house in Colchester.

Maydays, in Land Lane, went up in flames in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The 19th century house was severely damaged by the blaze, and meants that emergency services have so far been unable to get inside.

Instead, specialist search dogs have been used to hunt for the missing occupants; Francis Carter and his bed-bound mother Emilie.

A body was found on Wednesday afternoon by the dogs, and a second body has now been found in an upstairs room.

The bodies have not yet been identified, but are believed to be those of the occupiers.
