Teachers at a secondary school have given their beleaguered headteacher a vote of no confidence, the Evening Gazette can reveal.

They have written to the education authority to say they no longer support Harwich School head Jacky Froggatt.

Miss Froggatt has had criticism this week from parents over falling standards and a poor Ofsted inspection report.

Now she is facing a fresh crisis after 60 per cent of her teaching staff voted on Wednesday not to support her.

Last Friday's Ofsted inspection judged the school as "inadequate" and gave it a Notice to Improve.

Inspectors will revisit in a year to see if there has been progress, otherwise it could be placed in special measures.

Miss Froggatt is this week off sick and was unavailable to comment today.
