A Clacton woman who is petrified of heights is doing a sponsored abseil to help Romanian children.
Debbie McKean cannot cross bridges without holding on to someone, but is determined to rise to the challenge and raise £1,000.
Mrs McKean, a mother of two daughters, is raising the cash to go to Romania with a charity for two weeks in August to help renovate four schools.
She plans to abseil 40ft down a pole at the Thorrington Scout camp next month during a fun day for Brownies and Rainbows from the 1st Clacton pack.
