A disabled pensioner says hospital hold-ups have left him no choice but to walk around in mismatched black and brown shoes.
Colchester man Gordon Dowe, who has one leg shorter than the other, claims red tape has stopped him getting the special footwear he needs.
He fears it will be months before he is issued with a matching pair on the NHS.
A spokesman for Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust said replacement shoes could be arranged.
