V Fesival-goers are in for a divine time at this year's event with the anouncement of four more acts.

Heading up the new batch is one of Ireland's most gifted songwriters, Neil Hannon, the lead singer with the Divine Comedy.

A firm favourite with past V Festival crowds, he will be joining an already impressive list of performers at Chelmsford's Hylands Park over the weekend of August 19 and 20.

As well as Mr Hannon, other acts announced this week include hippy Britpop outfit Kula Shaker, country rock goddess Nerina Pallot and legendary 1980s Liverpool outfit Shack, who inspired a whole generation of musicians, including Oasis.

Already on the bill for this year's V Festival are headliners Radiohead and Morrisey as well as Girls Aloud, Beck and Faithless.
