A man died after falling out of a loft while getting his Christmas decorations, a coroner's court heard.
Andrew King, 40, of Main Road, Danbury, died on December 15 in the Royal London Hospital having fallen out of his loft on December 11, an inquest at Chelmsford heard yesterday.
Coroner's officer PC Jeremy Spencer said: "Mr King was a fit and well man. On December 11, he was in his loft getting Christmas decorations.
"As he went to reach for his ladder, he stumbled and fell head first out of the loft on to the floor. "He went to Broomfield Hospital and was transferred to the Royal London Hospital where he died."
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr King died from a brain injury caused from a fall from height. Essex Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray recorded a verdict of accident death.
