PLANS for new sports facilities vital to the £24million Craylands regeneration project have been approved.
Councillors voted in favour of proposals to develop three playing pitches, a hardball court and new changing rooms by the Frypa Hall community Centre, at the Fryerns open space in Beeleigh East.
The application, made by Basildon Council and using Government money, includes a changing room and two junior and one senior pitches to replace some of those at the former Fryerns School site, which will be surrendered for hundreds of new homes under the overall regeneration plan.
