VOLUNTEERS who don't mind getting their hands dirty are needed to help build a Thundersley charity's sensory garden.

The garden, at the Tyrells Centre, in Seamore Avenue, involves water features and bird baths, seating, wind chimes and music, designed to appeal to the senses of those who use the facility, which includes two day centres for the elderly.

Michaela White, from the Volunteer Bureau, said: "Everyone in this building will be pleased to see it completed."

Volunteers do not need experience in gardening - just enthusiasm.

Centre manager Alan Frost said: "The Scouts got the garden cleared, which meant we were able to get the lawn laid and groundwork completed in the autumn. All we need now is to get the plants and features in."
