THE new driving force behind Southend's Victoria Plaza believes it can be transformed from a tired 1960s-style shopping centre into a modern mall.
Jonathan Poole, 39, who lives at Great Notley, near Braintree, took up his new job a few days ago after overseeing the refurbishment of the Liberty shopping centre in Romford.
Victoria Plaza is due to undergo a £15million refurbishment, ending with it being roofed in and with new lifts and escalators linking the three floors.
