A multi-million pound redevelopment of north Colchester is set to get the go-ahead today.
The redevelopment of Severalls Hospital and Cuckoo Farm, including a 10,000-seater community stadium, 1,500 homes and a new A12 junction, is due to get the nod from the North Essex Mental Health Partnership.
Outline planning permission for the development was approved by Colchester Council, subject to legal agreements with the three landowners involved, back in August 2003.
Both Colchester Council and English Partnerships have agreed the legal agreements, and the mental health partnership which owns Severalls Hospital will be recommended to agree its support at a board meeting today.
Colchester Community Stadium Action group held a meeting last night to quiz partners involved with the project on the latest developments.
