Jay McEveley could be back in action for Ipswich Town before the end of March.

The Blackburn Rovers defender is on a season-long loan with the Blues, but returned to his home club after suffering medial ligament damage in Town's match at Cardiff in November.

He went back for surgery and was expected to be out for the entire season.

However, after making steady progress, he has returned to Portman Road to step up his rehabilitation.

He now hopes to play some part in Ipswich's push for a play-off spot.
