Councillors have thrown their support behind an idea to build a youth shelter to combat antisocial behaviour.
Witham Town Council's policies and resources committee agreed last night to support in principle building another shelter in the town, possibly at Spa Road.
But they agreed to consult residents and youngsters and consider the cost before choosing a location.
Dr Robert Evans (Lab, North), who put forward the idea, said: "I think youth shelters are positive, they play a part and they make a contribution."
