A teenager had to be taken to hospital after the car in which he was travelling ended up on its roof.
The boy suffered cuts to his scalp and a possible fracture to his neck after the black Ford Escort cabriolet in which he was a passenger overturned.
He was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
A spokesman for Bocking road policing unit said his injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
The 18-year-old driver of the car lost control at about 7.45pm on Saturday, in Rickstones Road, Witham, near to Rectory Lane. He suffered only a bump to the head.
