Jubilant campaigners have won their battle against a proposed car park at their village railway station - for now.
White Notley residents formed an action group to voice their opposition for a car park at the train station, in Station Road, when plans were first submitted in February last year.
Now the plans have been withdrawn and members of Residents Against Station Parking (Rasp) are ecstatic.
Roger Brockbank, Rasp chairman, said: "This is a cause for celebration in the village of White Notley.
"We are really pleased."
But he was realistic this development could be followed with the resubmission of revised plans. He said: "We would do exactly the same again if it is resubmitted."
