A man who went missing while on business in Belgium has been found alive and well.

Police confirmed today that 29-year-old Matthew Jones, of Margaret Close, Brightlingsea, was on his way back to the UK. The IT consultant had been missing since January 30.

His family had become so concerned for his safety, after not hearing from him for ten days, that they began to fear the worst. He had also failed to turn up for work.

Clacton police worked with Belgian police and Interpol to trace Mr Jones.

Their efforts were rewarded this morning after it was confirmed a man found sleeping in a car near a Belgian motorway was Mr Jones.
