SOUTHEND hope to cultivate the cream of the borough's young crop of rugby talent for their first team squad, thanks to a major cash injection.
The Royal Bank of Scotland's credit card operations department have agreed to donate a four figure sum to the National Division Three South side's development programme for the next three years.
And club chairman, Neil Harding, believes the financial boost will finally enable Southend to become self sufficient by dripping a consistent conveyor belt of young stars into the senior set-up.
