Police have named a man who died in a head-on road crash near Maldon.
James Luck, 36, of London Road, Leigh on Sea, died when his Toyota Celica car was in a collision with a lorry on the B1010 Lower Burnham Road between Althorne and North Fambridge.
Mr Luck had been driving in the direction of South Woodham Ferrers when the accident happened on Friday.
His 11-year-old son, who was in the car, was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries to his head chest and leg, and was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
Essex Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information should contact Chelmsford police on 01245 452076.
