Big brother may soon be watching messy dog owners who flout the law.

Weeley Parish Council has noticed a number of canine walkers are ignoring rules and not clearing up after their pet - despite signs warning them.

As a result, the council is now looking at putting its CCTV camera to use by watching the playing field.

Pam Needham, vice chairman of the council, said reports had recently become persistent and now was the time for action.

She said: "There's no bad dogs, there's only bad dog owners. It's a perennial problem. We've got to do something. It's not nice. It's antisocial."
