Fabian Wilnis plans to do everything possible to extend his career with Ipswich Town.
And the long-serving Dutchman admits he has been mulling over his future since team-mate Kevin Horlock was told he could leave Portman Road.
Horlock found out last week that he would not be given a new contract in the summer and, if clubs showed interest in the meantime, he would be allowed to leave.
Wilnis, who joined Ipswich from De Graafschap in 1999, told the Evening Gazette: "Kevin's situation gets you thinking and it makes you realise this kind of thing can happen to anyone.
"My own contract is up in the summer but I badly want to stay, because this is my home and - as everyone knows - I love the club.
"I want to do everything in my power to extend my stay here.
"I might be 35 but, both mentally and physically, I still feel like I'm only 30."
