MORE than three quarters of the money Rochford District Council gives as grants to local groups is swallowed up by one organisation, it has been revealed.
Figures to be given to the council's finance scrutiny committee show the Citizens Advice Bureau, which has bases in Rayleigh and Rochford, receives £76,100 out of a total available pot of £102,600. The next largest total grant is £14,200, shared between four key elderly people's centres in Hockley, Hullbridge, Rayleigh and Rochford, which provide a range of facilities including lunch clubs.
